Day 1: Paro/Thimphu
On arrival at Paro Airport you will be met by our BST representative and transfer to Paro for Lunch (Paro altitude 2150 mts). Drive to Thimphu, Capital City of Bhutan (one and half hours drive)

Day 2. Thimphu (Altitude-2250mts)

The day excursion to Thimphu:

  • National memorial chorten, built in the honour of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk
  • Zilukha Nunnery, one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan
  • National School of arts and crafts, where traditional art is still kept alive through instructions in the arts of painting Thangkas(sacred Buddhist Religious scrolls
  • Traditional medicine Institute, where medicines are prepared according to ancient Practices.
  • Textile Museum (gallery of Bhutanese textiles through the ages)
  • Tashichhodzong, seat of the national government and the central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo(Chief abbot of Bhutan)* the Dzong is open to visitors only in winter when the Je khanpo ( Abbot) and the monk body move to Punakha the winter capital of the monastic body.
  • Handicrafts Emporium.
  • Explore the Thimphu market.
  • Folk Heritage Museum.
  • Thimphu viewpoint

Day 03 Thimphu/ Punakha/ Thimphu

  • Depart to Punakha via Dochula pass (3050m). This pass offers panoramic views of Himalayan ranges.
  • Visit Punakha Dzong, winter seat of Je khenpo (chief Abbot of Bhutan and ancient capital of Bhutan, remarkably located between the river of Mo chhu(female) and Pochu(male)
  • Wangdue Phodrang dzong, built in 1638.
  • Chime lhakhang,the temple of the god of fertility.
  • Drive to Paro.
  • Lunch: (R) Dinner: (R) Over night: (H)

Day 4. Sightseeing of Paro Valley.

  • Rinpung Dzong built in 1645 and is the seat of the district administration of Paro.
  • Nemizampa bridge, a 15th century bridge.
  • Drukgyal Dzong, the seat of the victorious Drukpas, was built in 1650s to commemorate a victory over the Tibetan armies. It caught fire in 1951 and was never repaired.
  • Kyichu Temple, one of the oldest Temple in Bhutan dated back to 7th century.
  • Paro town, Paro’s main shopping district.
  • Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower, which now houses the National Museum

Day 05 Departure day

  • Check in time at Paro Airport
  • Depart Paro to your onward destination.
