Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek

Passing by numerous lakes famous for trout fishing and forests of blue pine and oak, this route has fabulous mountain views. It is particularly beautiful route and offers endless scope for experiencing the wide variety of flora and fauna.

Season: March to June; September and October

Day 01: Arrive Paro. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 02: Paro sightseeing (Drukgyel Dzong, and excursion to Taktsang Monastery). Overnight at the hotel in Paro.
Day 03: Visit Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong in Paro, drive to Thimphu. Enroute visit Simtokha Dzong. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Day 04: Thimphu sightseeing ( Tashichhodzong, Memorial Chorten, handicrafts Emporium, National Library, Painting School, Textile Museum). Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 05: Thimphu – Telekha, distance – 11kms, time –6/7 hours, max alt. 10,000ft. overnight camp.
Day 06: Telekha-Japhuna, distance – 15kms, time 6/7 hours, max alt. 13,100ft. overnight camp.
Day 07: Japhuna- Jaduna, distance –12kms, time- 6/7 hours, max alt. 13,150ft. Overnight camp.
Day 08: Jaduna- Saytsho, distance –13kms, time –7/8 hours, max alt. 14,900ft. overnight camp.
Day 09: Saytsho-Genekha, distance –13kms, time –5/6 hours, max alt.12,000ft. overnight camp.
Day 10: Genekha- Paro, after end of trek drive to Paro. Overnight at the hotel in Paro. Day 11: Paro Depart.
